( The school assembly hall is decorated according to the event.All the participants,in masks and costumes,and guests are gathered in it.)
Compere 1: Good evening everybody!Dear Ladies and Gentlemen.Dear witches and ghosts,goblins and wizards!We are starting our traveling into the magic world of Halloween.Today we'll speak about the history of this holiday,play different games and many many others.
Compere 2: Halloween was first celebrated many centuries ago in Ireland and Scotland by Celtic priests called Druids.They observed the end of autumn and the beginning of winter.The Druids thought that Halloween was the night when the witches came out. As they were afraid of the witches they put on different clothes and painted their faces to deceive the evil spirits.They also put food and small gifts near the doors of their houses for the witches.This was,as they say now,the beginning of the expression’’trick or treat’’(meaning give me something or I’ll play a trick on you).Now dressed very strangely,children visit nearby houses and ask for candies.’’Trick or treat!Trick or treat!’’hear everywhere.(дітки молодших класів бігають по залу з вигуками ’’Trick or Treat” і просять цукерки).
Compere 1: All of you are here to have a great time and I hope you all enjoy yourselves at our party. Let us all sing the Halloween hymn. (всі співають пісню ’’Heyhow Halloween).
Compere 2:From the ancient times Halloween is loved by all spirits.And today we can see spooky creatures of all sorts and kinds who have come to the party:witches,ghosts,goblins,monsters and vampires.Let us see who looks the best today.Let's make the magic circle in the middle of the hall (учасники стають у коло) and sing the song’’Witches come on Halloween while each of you(one at a time)will be presenting his or her costume (всі учасники демонструють костюми кружляючи перед журі і співаючи пісню).
Compere 1:We have seen all the costumes but who gets more points than any other(журі ,що складається з вчителів англ.мови .,виставляє бали 1-5).
Hooray,we have a winner.Thanks to everybodies(переможці нагороджуються солодощами) .I'm sure our winners know a lot of poems(учні декламують вірші ’’Jack- o ‘Lantern, Halloween Magic, The Goblin,On Halloween”.
Compere 2: All witches,vampires,ghost,monsters and other spirits want to feast and party during many Halloween nights,to live forever and to stay forever young.Wise magicians always have answers to this and other difficult questions.Let's see how the things are going at the office of a modern wise old magician (учні інсценують “The Fountain of Youth’’).
Compere 1: Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without Jack – o’ – Lanterns.All of you know that they were just pumpkins first.Let’s see what we have today and choose the best one (учень чи групи учнів демонструють свої гарбузові ліхтарі,які вони зробили вдома і принесли з собою,журі оцінюють.Потім світло вимикається,приміщення освітлюється гарбузовими ліхтарями і всі учні декламують вірш ”Pumpkin Pumkin Pumpkin “)
Compere 2:You did a good job.Now let’s play traditional Halloween games (учні розбиваються на команди).
