The lesson aims to presentinteractive teaching techniques withing learner-centered teaching, which presupposes learning situations, where ideas are brought by learners and are concerned with their interests.
The lesson demonstrates:
-teaching with songs;
-brainstorming students` ideas on proverbs and sayings;
-predicting the plot of the texts through the title;
-building up a mind map:
-jigsaw reading (pair work):
-interviewing a partner;
-swapping ideas on the plot of the texts;
-retelling the information got as a result of the interview;
-filling-in a Venn Diagram on similar and different things;
-defining the meaning of the new lexical items;
-filling-in the chart "PROSCONS" to get ready for academic discussion.
The lesson presupposes cooperative learning techniques as well as usage of numerous graphic organizers.
